He is a native of Anambra State, a region in the South-East part of the country. He was born in Onitsha, Anambra state into the royal family of the late H.R.H. Obi Ofala Okechukwu Okagbue and lolo Ogechukwu Clara Okagbue, the former Obi of Onitsha.
The actor was born twins the name of his twin brother is Christian Okagbue.
